My pen was next to the paper list. I knew this because there was a long black blob alongside a squarish yellow blob. No doubt the pen had left ink (in the form of squiggles that I intended to be words) on the page; but with everything in constant motion, there was no hope of reading what I had thought was so damn important but a scant twenty minutes ago.
How this hangover had gotten worse, I couldn't figure.

THE CLINIC CALLED SAYING THEY WERE STILL LOOKING FOR A DOCTOR TO HELP FILL THE ROTATION. THEY SAID THE NUMBER HAS NOT CHANGED. PLEASE CALL THEM BACK--I AM NOT YOUR ANSWERING SERVICE. -Mrs. Hudson. (landlady)
He called before he came over. He called twice, in fact; but since I ignored both those calls I had every hope that he would simply not bother. Hope, as with most of things lately, was a losing gamea trickster. It let you believe that there was something better. That

Socks are evil. A necessary evil, by all accounts; but you shouldn't discount their diabolical nature. The pairs never stay together, and one always seems to be desperate to leave the other. When they are worn together, when they run together, everything is fine. It is only after all that use that they begin to separate. The right one will become discarded behind a sofa cushion; or the left in the black hole of the washer. One will stretch, the other will shrink. One will dis

Congratulations on your purchase of a CEREUS PERUVIANUS . These low-maintenance plants are perfect for those not naturally endowed with green thumbs. Inside is a quick guide for the care and maintenance of your CEREUS PERUVIANUS .
I stared down at the Complete Guide for Care and Maintenance of Cacti and Succulents. To call it a book would be too generous. To call it helpful would be too much of a lie. I tried to limit the number of lies I toldeven if only to myself

I set my pen down. The sharp tip had left a deep scar over "flat-mate."
Not today. Not yet. The flat was still a mess; and He was still very much in residence. Tomorrow would be better. Much.
Besides five things was plenty. Five goals. Five chances to move a step closer to so

"What about that stuff over there?" The man holding the box jerked his head towards the left. More boxes, exactly like the one the man held, littered the small room, though it had been fuller just a few hours earlier. The small group of three had been moving boxes out of the room and into the transport ship.
The woman turned. "Those, too."
The man nodded and went to put the boxes he held in the ship. The woman, looking to make sure that everything else was packed and away, turned back to the last open box. The lid was lying across half of the box, exposing a jumble of objects below its

The Engineers Cat - Chapter 1 - John/Lock
Sherlock stood with his back on the wall, his breathing steady and eyes narrowed. It was almost pitch black in the alley, and the only hint of life came from the bins that reflected faint lights from the nearest road. The buildings here were so close together that John was pressed against Sherlock's side. "Sherlock, I'm still confused." John whispered. "You said that we were going out on a case and I honestly wasn't expecting a solid hour cramped up knee deep in rubbish."
John tried to look at Sherlock's face, but he couldn't make anything out. Sherlock didn't speak or move a response. John scowled silently into the night. Why did he always
Due to difficulties in electronics (my pc decided to take the day off, and took my lights with it) I might not get today's Watson story up before tomorrow. I'm sorry, but electronics hate me, and waving my story in front of my laptop (which is about to die) doesn't seem to be working at the moment. Hopefully the electronic gods will accept my sacrifice and I'll be all up and running tomorrow. Sorry for the delay.
I had this idea to do these short little stories from the perspective of John Watson. I want to do them everyday, or at least every few days, charting the experiences of John a few months after Reichenbach Falls. Each one is going to start off with a quick To Do list (a suggestion from his therapist) and then revolve around his life. I would eventually like to have someone write an accompanying Sherlock version, but I would have to find someone willing to write that (since I would really want to have two clear voices going for something like that). But I'll wait till I see if anyone finds this at all interesting. Besides me. The first o
